Since its formation, the Klezmerorchester Erfurt has brought together amateur and professional musicians from all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland and connected people of different generations, origins and musical backgrounds. Johannes P. Gräßer and Szilvia Csaranko are the founders and directors of this amazing project. 24-26 February is the Introduction Workshop, final rehearsals and a concert will take part 18-21 May 2023 in Erfurt.

KlezWeCan goes Basel: Dive into the fascinating sound of the old klezmer kapelyes and experience the characteristics of one of the most multi-faceted traditional styles of music!

Learn from and together with an international team of tutors about Yiddish music and culture, including Johannes Paul Gräßer, Szilvia Csaranko, Susi Evans and as guest lecturer: Michael Heitzler.

Klezmer is traditional Jewish dance and feast music. This workshop is for enthusiastic instrumentalists who would like to take their klezmer skills to the next level: we will talk about repertoire, style and background information.
