Old Yiddish melodies ring out in beautiful new arrangements of wedding and festival music from Jewish Eastern Europe. This music was thought to be lost and has not been heard or played for over 100 years – until today! We explore a remakable archive of manusripts collected during ethnographic field research trips to Jewish villages in the Ukrainian countryside between 1912-1914. This treasure trove contains almost 1400 melodies, from which we've selected our favourite tunes, many of which are surprising and special and an exciting addition to the klezmer repertoire that survives today.
